Professor Cláudio Melo was one of the co-founders of Polo, where he worked as Professor and Researcher from 1982 to 2019. He holded a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1977), his master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1980) and his doctorate in Applied Thermal Engineering at the Cranfield University (1985). His area was Mechanical Engineering, with emphasis on Refrigeration, mainly on the following topics: heat exchangers, expansion devices, controls, simulation of refrigeration systems, new refrigeration cycles. He passed away on May 28, 2019 and here we pay our homage and respect to his legacy.
