Eduardo Ludgero da Silva was born in Florianópolis, SC – Brasil. In 2001 he started working in the area of Thermodynamics with experimental analyses of nucleate boiling at the laboratory LabSolar at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). There, he developed experimental setups, projects and softwares for thermal control of electronic components under microgravity conditions with fluids FC87 and FC72 provided by 3M®, analyses of nucleate boiling in annular flow inside smooth micro-finned tubes, analyses of nucleate boiling in smooth and externally micro-finned horizontal tubes of copper with R134a and analysis of nucleate pool boiling of non-azeotropic binary mixtures. Since March 2007 he works at the laboratory POLO at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of UFSC in the area of Refrigeration and Thermophysics, where he develops experimental setups, projects and automation softwares for heat exchangers of miniaturized refrigeration systems, experimental investigation of heat transfer in household reciprocating compressor components under steady and transient conditions, development and experimental validation of models fto predict the efficiency of rolling piston compressors, experimental analysis of the pulsating flow in the suction systems of reciprocating compressors, experimental characterization of refrigerants in microchannels, evaluation of wear on valve leakage of reciprocating compressors, reliability tests with household refrigeration compressors, experimental analysis of the compressor efficiency operating in a refrigeration system and instrumentation of reciprocating compressors under transient operating conditions in refrigerators. Eduardo has large experience in instrumentation and data acquisition. He develops softwares with the following programming languages: LabView®; VHDL (FPGA); Delphi®; Pascal; C,C++; Visual Builder®; Python; Java®; HTML; UML and DML modelling; JavaScript; NIVision® e Java (Image processing); Assembly; MySQL®; Paradox®; DerbyDB; Postgres®. He also develops projects in digital and embedded electronics with Microchip's microprocessors 12F, 16F 18F e PIC32. Besides, he works with the implementation of communication drivers (PC <-> system) as: USB-HID; GPIB; RS-232; RS-485; Bluetooth;
