This Saturday in Joinville, 01/25/2020, Dietmar Lilie passed away at the age of sixty. Dietmar was a notable inventor and researcher whose professional career led him to occupy a prominent position at EMBRACO. Its intelligence and inventiveness contributed significantly to EMBRACO becoming a world leader in the manufacture of hermetic refrigeration compressors. Throughout his career he had more than 120 patents granted, a number that placed him among the most productive inventors in the world in the area of ​​reciprocating compressors. His connection with POLO and UFSC was long-lived and fruitful, having started in the early eighties with his first work with Professor Rogério Ferreira. Throughout all these years he participated in several projects and interacted with teachers, researchers and students. It is with great regret that we say goodbye to Dietmar. Your leadership, experience and wisdom will be missed and your absence will be greatly felt by all of us.
