Márcio J. E. Demétrio was born in Imaruí, SC - Brazil. In 2006, he graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and in 2013 he obtained his M. Sc. degree with emphasis on thermal sciences also by UFSC. He worked as a Research Engineer at the Laboratory of Combustion and Engineering of Thermal Systems LabCET/UFSC (2007-2008) in research of water tank boilers with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). From 2011 to 2016, he was a Product Development Engineer at Whilpool Latin America working with development of cooking and refrigeration products also using CFD computational tools. He is currently a Research Engineer at INCT-POLO/UFSC working mainly on the optimization of refrigeration products through of CFD numerical techniques. His major interests include heat exchangers, fans, ice formation and processes with phase change.
