Virtually every brazilian household refrigeration system (refrigerator or freezer) employs a concentric capillary tube suction line heat exchanger as the expansion device. The main purpose of this heat exchanger is to increase the mass flow rate through the capillary tube as well as the fluid temperature along the suction line.
