Summary

The ability to predict the temperature distribution of spinning electric machines is as important as the ability of predicting its performance. In spite of the importance of knowing the temperature inside spinning electrical machines the available literature lacks of methodologies that allow obtaining such information in a satisfactory manner, and making use of the state of art knowledge related to heat transfer and fluid flow. This work presents the development of a hybrid thermal model to analyze the temperature distribution in an induction motor, in a steady state operation.
