Summary
The present work presents an approach to the solution of a Shape Optimization problem, where one makes use of the Galerkin Finite Element Method. The target state equations of the optimization problem are Navier-Stokes and Continuity equations. The flows considered here are incompressible and at a steady-state condition. The objective of this work is to find th e optimal shape of a domain so that it minimizes the viscous dissipation of the resu lting flow. Thus, the viscous dissipation is defined as the objective function of the optimization problem which is subjected to a volume and side constraints. [...]
