Summary

The objective of this work is to present a numerical model to simulate air infiltration/ventilation processes in buildings. The model accounts for the nature and roughness of the surrounding terrain and the consequent atmospheric boundary layer» the wind speed and direction, the building dimensions, the temperature difference between the internal and the external air, the internal air temperature stratification, etc. The model is also able to analyse the effect of the induced air infiltration/ventilation rates on the internal air relative humidity, temperature and pollutant concentration.
