Isabel Janke, Master of the Post-Graduation Program in Mechanical Engineering at UFSC, received the Best Student Paper Award at the 17th International Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Conference at Purdue, held July 8-12 in West Lafayette, USA. The work was guided by Prof. Cláudio Melo and with the technical and financial support of Embraco S.A under the Embrapii program.

The work, called "A design approach for liquid separators applied to household refrigerators" was aimed at developing a small capacity phase separator that will allow the development of innovative refrigeration cycle architectures, thus facilitating the introduction of low energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.
 

The Conference

The Purdue Conference, as it is popularly called, has been held biannually since 1972. This is one of the most important and consolidated events in the area of ​​refrigeration, this year with 800 participants and 500 scientific works, distributed in 80 technical sessions. More information about the Conference here.
