Today ends the ITHERM 2016 - The Intersociety Conference on Thermal and Thermomechanical Phenomena in Electronic Systems, hosted this year in Las Vegas/USA between 05/31 and 03/03. ITherm is an international conference that aims the scientific exploring and the engineering of thermal, thermomechanical and emerging technologies associated to electronic devices and systems. In addition to oral presentations, posters and sponsor's expositions, ITherm included discussion panels, lectures conducted by prominent speakers, workshops and short-term professional courses.

The researchers Pablo Adamoglu de Oliveira and Prof. Jader Barbosa presented on the thermic session the paper "Two-Phase Jet Impingement Heat Sink Integrated with a Compact Vapor Compression System for Electronics Cooling" (download), authored by both, which introduces a compact vapor compression cooling system equipped with a small-scale oil-free linear motor R-134a compressor and a novel heat sink that integrates the evaporator and the expansion device into a single unit.
